Established in 2003, Madeline K Couture is a contemporary women’s clothing manufacturing company headed by award winning designer Madeline K Smith. She creates a vast range of designs that go from trend-setting, contemporary looks for day to scene-stealing, sophisticated, Old Hollywood glamour for the evening. Her designs have regularly graced the red carpet as well as the television screen.
The designer’s love for fashion began with the gift of a sewing machine from her grandmother who herself was a seamstress for a high-end retail store. Her parents’ love for music and fashion are strong influences as well. Growing up Madeline’s mother’s love for Motown and glamour ran neck and neck while her father’s love for classic 3-piece suits played second only to the jazz greats Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Music is a huge influence in the designer’s life as well as her creations – something you will come to know as you shop Madeline K Couture.
Madeline became an award-winning designer in 2011, having successfully competed in and winning the KTLA Katwalk Designer Challenge which was a televised 5-day competition in Los Angeles. Judges for the contest included red carpet designer David Meister and fashion expert Lawrence Zarian who sang her praises throughout the competition. She regularly designs for and styles Tonya Banks of the television show Little Women of LA and has also been worn by Hollywood insiders and producers including actress Vanessa Williams and singer Chaka Khan.
